Our earth is filled with some brilliant natural landscapes and has so much to offer that a person can keep on collecting memories like forever. From coastal beaches to beautiful mountains and from plains to rainforests, we are blessed with various types of natural sceneries. But there are certain places which are a different world in itself as these would simply take you away from the routine life to something which is truly mesmerising.

The feeling of being at such exotic place would be rather difficult to express in words. We are talking about the beautiful and naturally gifted Sumba islands which lie in eastern Indonesia. Located in East Nusa Tenggara province, Sumba are surf paradise for the visitors and would offer you a much need break from the daily routine from my Bali resort. It is quite different from the rest of the Indonesian islands as low limestone hills make up the landscape of these and the major port of Waingapu is the biggest town on the island with fantasctic property landscape..

For the conservation of endangered species the national parks, the Laiwangi Wanggameti National Park and Manupeu Tanah Daru National Park have been designated.Sumba islands are particularly known for its rich birdlife and there are certain birds which you can spot only on these islands.As for the seasons, from the month of May to the month of December, Sumba islands experience dry season and from December to April is the period of rainy season. One of the most distinguishing aspects of these islands is its flora and fauna and it has plants and animals belonging to Asian as well as Australian origin.

The four regencies which comprise of the island along with the very tiny islands are Sumba Barat, Sumba Barat Daya, Sumba Tengah and Sumba Timur. If you want to visit something unique in Indonesia, then Sumba islands is the answer for this. Another attraction of Sumba are the megaliths which are in good condition and you could spot stone megaliths could be easily spotted on these islands.You could visit this islands and for its culture. The beach here is simply awesome and you would surely have a wonderful experience over here.

Culturally this place is known for ikat textiles and what is found over here is highly detailed ikat which is woven by hand. If you are curious to know the places that are worth visiting in Sumba islands, then you must visit the beach called as Puru Kambera which lies at twenty-six kilometres from Waingapu which is the capital city. Then there is this place called Tarimbay Bay which from Waingapu lies at a hundred and twenty kilometres. This place brings a great piece of news for surfers as it is regarded as paradise, the ucrowded waves of Sumba  for surf lover as from the period from June to September there are waves which are about two to three metres tall.How can we not mention the exotic Sumba resort which is another big attraction of these islands and it is worth mentioning that it is regarded as one of the five best eco-hotels of the world?
